Annual Safety Fair Promotes Workplace Safety

The Texas Pipe Quality & Safety Department organized a safety fair for our skilled manufacturing employees. The annual event, scheduled for October 19 and 21, promoted the importance of workplace safety and encouraged employees to take care of their health. Manufacturing employees enjoyed the event with a lunch prepared by the sales team, a raffle, games, and visiting vendor booths.

Health and Manufacturing Vendors are Invited to Texas Pipe’s Safety Fair

Among the manufacturing vendors invited to the 2022 Safety Fair was Wayne Workwear. Long-time employees look forward to visiting the Wayne Boot Truck to redeem their safety points for a pair of durable work boots or other workplace attire from Wayne Workwear. Employees can accumulate points throughout the year by participating in the Texas Pipe S.H.A.R.P. program. Employees receive points for completing their safety training, leading trainings, and improving safety conditions in the workplace. Other manufacturing vendors in attendance included Cintas, DXP Enterprises, Industrial Welding Supply, MAGID, and more.

Employees had the opportunity to visit different health vendors providing onsite services including Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, which was providing flu shots, Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center was available to employees wanting to donate blood, and Jet Dental was onsite signing up employees to receive dental services.

Voting for the Children’s Coloring Contest Happens During the Safety Fair

It is a Texas Pipe tradition to release a Safety Calendar every year composed of artwork submitted to the Texas Pipe Children’s Coloring Contest. The children’s coloring contest, dedicated in honor of the beloved late employee Tanya Wiggins, is dear to the hearts of all Texas Pipe employees.

The contest is open to any child between the ages of 0-12 with a relative working at any of the Texas Pipe Family of Companies locations. This year’s theme was Home Run for Health & Safety! It is always an exciting time to see how children interpret safety and how they bring the theme to life. You can view the entries for the 2023 Texas Pipe calendar here.

Employees Enjoy Raffle and Fun Activities During the Safety Fair

The Quality & Safety Department encourages all company departments to participate in the safety fair by preparing a gift basket that will be raffled during the safety fair. Departments get creative in how they wrap their gifts. The credit department created a BBQ Basket, complete with a cooler, charcoal, foldable chairs, and other gadgets needed for a BBQ. Other departments submitted coolers and gift cards.

Other fun activities included the reptile show-and-tell from The Museum of Natural Science. Many employees took advantage of the complimentary back massages from Infinity Massage. Other employees enjoyed a good game of cornhole or used the photobooth.

Thank you, Vendors, for Making this Event a Success!

We want to thank all of our vendors who attended the event. The 2022 Safety Fair would not have been possible without your help. We look forward to seeing you next year!
